We’ve decided to get a dog! It’s been a long process of hum-ing and haar-ing, but Jordi finally convinced dad and mom (the hard part) that we were ready to invite a dog into our family.

We drove an hour out of town today, to Heidelberg, to a farm that breeds Border Collies. We’ve setteled on a Border Collie, because I grew up with Border Collies, and in my mind there’s really no other option. I grew up with them, and I’ve never met a breed of dog that can sneak right into your heart with the speed and depth of a Border Collie.
It was a fairly large deal for the girls because they’ve not really had much ‘dog’ experience. We spent the afternoon being introduced to the 15 or so dogs on the farm, learnt some history, and went through the process of convincing the breeder that we were a suitable family (I think we passed the test). There’s still some distance to go because she has a fairly long waiting list.

The girls had a ball playing with 2 puppies named Story and Ledge. A stunning day all in all.
