Inspired by Cell C’s ‘Take a girl child to work day’, Jordan joined me for a day in the life of her dad yesterday. This being a two day work week, and most people I get to work with off for a very long-weekend, it was the perfect opportunity to put something appropriate together.

I wanted it to be special and so phoned Donna Barnes of BoE Private Clients, and asked her if we could shift one of our monthly meetings to this week, and whether she’d be OK with me bringing Jordan along? Of course Donna being Donna it was a ‘go’.

And what a wonderful day it was. Apart from simply being able to spend such a special day with Jordi (the meeting was in Cape Town), she got to sit in on my meeting with Donna, took a trip to Donna’s desk and learned about her job in Communications, had lunch at the WaterFront, went to the foot of Table Mountain, up to Signal Hill, down to Camps Bay, shopped like mad, and had incredible yet simple conversations with my daughter.

A day I will certainly repeat over and over again while I am able.
