What makes a great Christmas?

There’s an aspiring author I know well, who’s recently had an article featured on Jozi Kids. The post is called, ‘Christmas – Money, Mystery and Imagination‘.

It’s a fun post about family and the role of imagination, money and mystery when you’re talking Christmas.

Let’s be honest, it doesn’t matter who you are, or what your philosophies might be, when Christmas starts making it’s entrance, all of us, every last one, begins to feel a flutter somewhere deep down in our tummies. And yes, Christmas is over-the-top commercial, and we probably don’t really understand it’s origins, and it is all make believe. But those are exactly the three elements needed to create tummy fluttering stuff. Money, Mystery and a monster dose of Imagination.

A merry Christmas to all of you. And for those that wander over to Jozi Kids to take a read, thanks for going. Every click helps : )

Shopping in PJs

The Scooter Girls and I went and did a little Christmas Shopping yesterday. As always, Carli came to the party in her own very unique way : )

Let me explain that last statement:

She’s the only person I know who does peanut butter, ham and jam all on the same sandwich. She’ll use vienna sausages as a scoop for yogurt. She’ll dress how she wants when she wants, and none of her choices have anything to do with anything or anybody. It’s simply all about her in a very quiet Carli way. So pj’s to go shopping in the middle of the day is a fairly unsurprising choice if you know Carli.

The two pics attached to this post are of her sitting in a clothes shop exhausted from the shopping, wanting to go home, and threatening to ‘pass out’, literally, if we didn’t get outta there.

There’s only one thing you do when presented with this scenario, we got outta there : )

Bring on that Christmas Cheer

I woke up on Saturday morning to find Carli playing with some Christmas Tree lights. It got me thinking. Thinking about Christmas cheer.

Starting Christmas early seemed like a great way to begin the process. I know it’s a little early in our home to be putting up a Christmas tree, but I’m certain that if there are rules and dates for Christmas tree assembly, that the consequences wouldn’t be too severe.

So Jordi, Carli and I headed off in search of a Christmas tree worthy of bringing some cheer. This isn’t a particularly difficult task in our home, as our Christmas tree’s have mostly been fairly piddly.

We found one. Added some bits of pieces and assembly is firmly on track. I have the photos to prove it.

Ho Ho Ho. Bring on that Christmas Cheer! Enough to illuminate 2009.
